Large quantities of unlicensed medicines have been taken by Department of Health authorities throughout a search of a home in Glengormley.

A guy was spoken with by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently supplying unlicensed impotence medicines by means of the web.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medication offenses.

He will now be the topic of a report to the general Service.

The search was performed by the department’s Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, said: “It is important that we get the message across that unlicensed medicines can be unsafe.

“These kinds of products being sold, usually online, have undergone no quality assurance and there can be no guarantee about their safety.

“You simply do not know what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More notably, you do not know the impact drugs like this might have on your health.”
